About Ian

Ian Cocoran was born and educated in the north-east of England. Although his work experience is multi-faceted, Ian has had substantial exposure to the retail and industrial distribution markets, working in several senior management roles with a number of blue-chip organizations.

Ian has first hand knowledge of working with some major UK retailers in the well-being, home improvement and fashion sectors and for nine-years, worked as a senior manager and Director with one of the UK's leading industrial distribution businesses. 

Although Ian's track record of success is predicated upon leading and driving organizational change initiatives, focusing in particular on the sales, marketing and operations functions, his strong communication skills have meant that he has also been frequently involved in PR and media work.

Ian's passionate interest in the field of digital branding stems from both his MBA in marketing and the considerable work that he has done for brandchannel.com - the world's only dedicated online branding portal. Having been involved with brandchannel since its inception in 2001, Ian is now regarded by many to be an expert on the concept of digital branding and he is frequently called upon by both brand managers and scholars to provide input to digital brand management strategies. His first book, "The Art of Digital Branding," is due to be published in 2007 by Allworth Publishing, New York. Ian now lives in Sydney, Australia.
